Soulard Mardi Gras: Throw Me Something Mister!!
Dec 16, 2021 12:09PM ● By Kristie SmithSoulard Mardi Gras is just the event to get you over the after-Christmas blues. You know, that letdown post an anticipated event. The best way to stay “up” is by moving on to the next big thing. And that, my friends, is the Soulard Mardi Gras extravaganza. So let the good times roll when the festivities begin 12 days after Christmas, and don’t stop until the night before Ash Wednesday. There’s pomp. There’s circumstance. There’s tradition. All celebrated with drinks, parades, and more fun than you can throw some beads at!
Fire up the band on January 6 for the kickoff celebration. A family winter carnival and scavenger hunt ensue on January 22 and 29, respectively. Something is going on nearly every week.
February rolls on with the PAL Olympics on the 5th. Then, keep things hot with the Cajun Cookoff on the 12th. No time for sleeping now. The party really gets going on the 19th with the MO Lottery 5k Run for Beads, the Taste of Soulard (19 & 20) and the Purina Pet Parade, and Tito’s Vodka Weiner Dog Derby on the 20th. And for the piece de resistance—the Mayor’s Ball on February 25. But there’s more! Keep checking https://stlmardigras.org/ for details.
