A portion of the beer’s sales will be donated to the City of Fountains Foundation, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Foundation raises funds to construct new fountains, cover maintenance costs, and increase awareness of the importance of Kansas City’s 48 publicly owned fountains. Vanguard Packaging, KC Bier Co.’s supplier of printed cases and trays, is also supporting the launch with a donation of materials.
Katie Camlin, Digital and Social Media Coordinator and designer of the Fountain City 6-pack, worked with the City of Fountains Foundation and Vanguard Packaging to create a package that would celebrate and highlight the fountains in Kansas City, featuring a map of the Kansas City’s fountains and 4 images of fountains from different areas of the city.
Steve Holle, Managing Partner and Founder of KC Bier Co., said, “As a locally owned brewery, we are highly supportive of civic causes, and we were delighted when the City of Fountains Foundation asked us to support one of Kansas City’s most beloved icons”.
Fountain City Wheat is a clear-filtered Hefeweizen (Bavarian-style wheat bier), brewed to evoke the refreshing, clear waters of Kansas City’s fountains, and it will arrive in six packs in retail stores beginning March 15 around the Kansas City metro area and Lawrence.
