Beer with Quasi and Tsunami, St. Louis’ coolest sea turtles

I love walking and looking at art while sipping on a beer or a cocktail. It’s just one of my life’s little pleasures. Sadly, most museums won’t allow me this delight, which is why I love art openings and galleries. The quiet stroll as I contemplate the art or sit and listen to music with a beer is something that feels just right.
So, why not add animals to my list? Or more specifically sea turtles?
Partying with Crush
I remember all the movies we sat our now-grown children in front of when they were little. “Finding Nemo” was a classic. My favorite character was “Crush” the sea turtle. If I was going to have a beer with a sea turtle, he’d be my first choice. Crush will not be on hand this Thursday, but you and I can still drink with the sea turtles, during “Sips With Sea Turtles” at the St. Louis Aquarium.
This after-hours and 21+ event begins at 5:30 at the Aquarium, which is located inside St. Louis Union Station.
“Sips With Sea Turtles” is the spring Under The Deep Brew Sea party focusing on the Aquarium’s two rescued sea turtles, Quasi and Tsunami.
Guests are invited to grab a brew and learn about Sea Turtles during the party. You will have access to all of the Aquarium’s exhibits without the daytime crowds. There will be 5 beverage stations, featuring products from Anheuser-Busch, so you’ll never be too far away from your next brew.
Quasi and Tsunami
Both of the Green Sea Turtles who live at the St. Louis Aquarium were rescued after they sustained injuries from boat strikes. Tsunami was injured on her jaw and needs ongoing physical therapy to continue to eat properly. Tsunami was paralyzed from her boat accident and has to wear a weight on her shell to maintain buoyancy in the water. During Sips With Sea Turtles, the Aquarium’s animal care team and volunteers will share their stories and explain their journey to St. Louis from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

Tickets are $40 plus tax and are limited in availability for this 21 and up event. For an extra $10 guests can add a ride on The St. Louis Wheel.
A portion of the proceeds from Sips With Sea Turtles will go to support the St. Louis Aquarium Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the St. Louis Aquarium which exists to help provide access and education programs and serves as the region’s recognized voice for water stewardship.
