Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) members, beat the heat and join us an hour early at 8:30 am every Saturday and Sunday in July! Many of the animals on the topside of the Zoo will be available for viewing, plus Beastro Cafe, KC Zoo Railroad, and Endangered Species Carousel will also open at 8:30 am. The Africa section of the Zoo including the African Tram, African Sky Safari, and Kenyan Cruise, will open regularly at 9:30 am, weather permitting.
This 21-and-over evening event lets you experience the Zoo and its animal residents while enjoying music, free carousel and train rides, and yard games. Plus, you’ll have access to cash bars, food truck treats, Zoo trivia games, and more. Put one leg up and strike a pose with the flamingoes, feed the camels, and chill out with the penguins all while supporting the Zoo!
Get in the holiday spirit zoo-style at our Christmas-themed night. Show off your competitive spirit in our Reindeer Games and don’t forget to wear your favorite holiday attire! We hope you aren’t on the naughty list, as you may spot the jolly old elf himself. You don't want to miss this unique and fun-filled summer event.

Wine lovers and animal lovers unite! The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium has the only event in town where you can enjoy a summer evening of both at Wine Walk for Wildlife! Guests will stroll through the topside of the Zoo (excluding Africa), sip and savor 40 different types of wine, enjoy a variety of musicians, food trucks, and even talk with our animal specialists. Custom wine bottles featuring our conservation projects will be available for purchase.
